The Language of Leadership

The seminar convenors are Professor John Uhr and Dr Adam Masters, authors of Leadership Performance and Rhetoric (Palgrave 2017), with chapters on four Prime Ministers: Rudd, Gillard, Abbott, Turnbull; as well as chapters on Bob Carr and Noel Pearson. Four panellists have been invited to respond to the examination of leadership rhetoric in Leadership Performance and Rhetoric, and to participate in more general commentary on contemporary leadership in Australian politics:

  • Professor John Hewson, Crawford School, ANU
  • Dr Andrew Leigh, Member for Fenner, House of Representatives
  • Dr Chris Wallace, National Centre of Biography, ANU
  • Associate Professor Mary Walsh, University of Canberra

* Please note that due to renovations the main entrance to the SRWB will not be accessible. A temporary entrance will be located at the eastern end of the SRWB (Shine Dome end) for use on the night.
